Tunbridge, Vermont
Tunbridge is east of Randolph over the hill, strung along the First Branch of the White River and Route 110. It’s known for the Tunbridge World’s Fair every September and its covered bridges, and it has kept more working farms than most towns around here. Roughly 1,300 people live here. It’s 20 minutes to Randolph or South Royalton and the interstate.
What’s for sale in Tunbridge
What sells here
Tunbridge is land country: old farms, sugarbushes, hillside acreage with a view down the valley. Buyers are often after a homestead or a second home and are willing to drive for it. Village homes in Tunbridge and North Tunbridge come up less often. The sold listings on this site show what properties here have actually gone for.
Before you buy
Expect dirt roads, wells, septic and a longer winter drive; many places are a few miles from pavement. The First Branch floods in big storms — check the maps for valley-floor properties. Agricultural land is often enrolled in Vermont’s Current Use program, which changes the tax picture; I’ll explain what that means for a buyer.
