Royalton, Vermont
Royalton is the next town down the White River from Bethel, and South Royalton is its lively center: a classic village green, a railroad depot, restaurants, and Vermont Law and Graduate School, which keeps a steady flow of students, faculty and renters in the village. Royalton village and North Royalton along Route 14 and Route 110 are quieter. Roughly 2,700 people live in the town, between I-89 Exits 2 and 3.
What’s for sale in Royalton
What sells here
Village homes in South Royalton sell to people who want to walk to the green and the depot, and multi-family houses sell to owners renting to the law school community — an unusually steady market for a town this size. Up the hill roads are the farms and acreage that draw out-of-state buyers.
Before you buy
The White River and its tributaries run through the middle of town; check flood maps for anything on the valley floor. Royalton is in the White River Valley school district. If you’re buying a multi-family to rent, I can tell you what actually rents here and for how much.
