Paul has been active in many civic affairs in his hometown community. He was President and Founder of the White River Valley Trails Association that mapped an extensive multiple use trail system in the Central VT area, he was the founder of the New England Mountain Bike Festival originally in Randolph, promoter of several Mountain Bike events, Secretary of the VT trails and Greenways Council and the VT State Representative of the International Mountain Bike Association. He also served on the Randolph Recreation Advisory board, Randolph Area Chamber of Commerce board of directors and the Randolph Development Review board for 6 years.

Paul lives in South Randolph with his wife Karen and their two daughters Hannah (9) and Sara (6). When Paul isn't showing real estate he manages Abel Mountain Campground with his wife, which they purchased in 2003 and has a snowplowing business in the winter. His interests are mountain biking, road biking, snowshoeing, snowmobiling and working on their 270 acre timber lot in Braintree.
